Reviews
Cute but rather large sized theatre! Saw Oppenheimer and Wonka here and enjoyed the experience. Great popcorn! Get the butter.
It's an old theatre but it's very well maintained. Loved the screen size. The chairs are not recliners but it's comfortable enough. There is a food counter as well inside.
Love the theatre, lots of leg space and great popcorn. But the manager is rude and stingy with popcorn bags… I asked for a new SMALL paper bag for my large popcorn refill and she said that’s not possible because they don’t want to waste bags. Even though the food attendant already helped me fill one up, she made her pour it into my old bag instead. Really?🤦♀️
I hope this theater never goes anywhere. It's great service. Love the atmosphere and how kitchy everything is around there and the balcony of course.
Turned up to the theatre to watch a movie without booking tickets in advance. Didn’t think I had to because it’s usually not too busy. Turned up to find it had been cancelled. Yes we could’ve booked tickets but very frustrating that we have left the house to find out it has been cancelled. I then went home and pirated the movie.
I bought a Groupon for the Dunbar Theatre, and they keep changing the terms. When I bought it it stated ‘not redeemable for Barbie’. The next film shown regularly was Taylor Swift ERA. The fine print CHANGED to say not redeemable for Taylor Swift. Now that Taylor Swift is over, there’s a Marvel movie in 3D. Now the fine print has changed to not valid for 3D movies. My Groupon is expiring in a few days and I haven’t had a chance to use it. Infuriating. I’m not going to redeem the cash value of the Groupon because I refuse to give them another cent.
Best theater in Vancouver, the place is so old school and the staff make you feel very welcome.
So grateful that this little theatre has stayed open during the pandemic. For $150-250 (depending on the day of the week and time) you can book this theatre to watch any movie for up to 5 people with a drink and popcorn included. $20 an extra person. Such a great treat. We’ve gone 3 times in the past 12 months.
Staff are friendly and kind. Always feel safe and they continue to enforce Covid policies.
